A performance of my favorite Joplin rag, Gladiolus Rag, from a concert at Pine Point School in

Performing my "Floresville Boogie," named after my dad's birthplace in Texas.



Bird-brain Rag is one of Joseph Lamb's rags from his later years, the late 1950's, if I'm not mistaken.
This piece is not heard very often, mainly because it is no longer in print, and because it is not from the
ragtime "heyday," and is hence considered by some to be therefore less "authentic." It's a lot of fun to
play. Notice the broken tenths in the left hand of the last two sections. I'll provide a copy if anyone wants
to play this.



This is my "jazzed-up" version of Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag, loosely influenced by Jelly Roll Morton's
style, and, in general, by the the New Orleans treatment of traditional rags. This is NOT a transcription
of any kind, and does not purport to be "authentic" in any way. I just like playing it this way sometimes.



My one and only James Scott rag. I must do something about that.
